ONLINE DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE
The Public Safety Dispatchers’ Basic Course is an entry-level training for dispatchers employed by public safety and private security agencies who have established or are interested in establishing a communications center for their department.
The Public Safety Dispatchers’ Basic Course has a minimum hourly requirement of 80 hours, completed in a twenty-week block.
This program is divided into 14 individual topics, consisting of audio and video lectures, reading of assigned chapters and practical exercises.
The Public Safety Dispatchers’ Basic Course introduces students to the various methods of communications and communication equipment, collection, and dissemination of information, including vital information relayed to personnel in times of emergencies.
Students will also learn the skills and knowledge to work in a public safety/security communications center in a productive and professional manner. The course also prepares each student for the basic roles, responsibilities, and duties of a public safety dispatcher or other similar functions.

Program Length: 12 weeks
Training Delivery: Weekly modules are delivered in a secured online classroom and available to each student twenty-four hours a day for seven days.
Exams are issued every four weeks.
