Officers working in security and law enforcement are frequently the first to arrive when a mental health emergency occurs.
Persons may be disoriented, agitated, or even aggressive and at times will pose a threat to responders or to themselves.
This training helps you to assess what’s happening and the level of threat, assist the patient and to aid them in the appropriate treatment options.
Mental health or substance abuse-related crises are a daily event in our communities and may differ from actual crimes in progress or persons posing true threats.
Topics Covered Include:
- Scene Assessment
