This entry level course prepares the student for a career as a corrections officer for local city or county correctional facilities, regional jails, or private detention centers.

It further prepares contract security personnel who have been contracted by a correctional facility to have advanced knowledge of the operations of various facilities, safety and security protocols, officer awareness and the legal and ethical standards and obligations.
